A Nigerian Air Force helicopter has
crashed into the the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna,
Northwest Nigeria killing seven people.
The casualties include all four crew
members and three passengers and they were travelling from the Nigerian
Air Force Base in Kaduna en route Abuja. Emergency officials say the
helicopter crashed 10 minutes after take-off.
A military source who confirmed the
incident told reporters that the helicopter crashed at the old site of
the NDA at about 6.30am .
He said: “We heard a loud sound like
bomb blast, when we came out to confirm what it was, we saw flames.
After tracing the site, we then discovered that it was an Airforce jet
that crashed .”
