HARARE, Zimbabwe — A lion has killed a safari guide who was tracking wildlife with a group of tourists in a game reserve in Zimbabwe.
Police spokeswoman Charity Charamba said Quinn Swales was in Hwange National Park when he spotted six lions, one which attacked him on Monday. Hwange National park was home to the popular collared lion Cecil, whose killing in July by American dentist James Walter Palmer just outside the park sparked outrage in the United States. The lion that killed Swales was also collared. The collares lions are being monitored for an Oxford University study.
Charamba said none of the tourists was harmed.
