Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972), best known by his stage name, Eminem, is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and songwriter.
This awesome rapper didn’t just get to success.. He’d actually gone through a lot…
Check out the 5 powerful lessons to be learned about failure from Eminem’s career. Each of these starts with something he said.
# Everybody has goals, aspirations or whatever, and everybody has been at a point in their life where nobody believed in them…But when I say I’m going to do something, I have to do it, I don’t give a damn”…
If there’s anything to be learned here, its to be really determined to do what you wanna do, He had a bad start in life, both at home and in school. He never made many friends and he failed the 9th grade three times in a row, He had a bad start to his career because he had lowconfidence. He took minimum wage jobs to support his wife and daughter. At one point, he was working 60 hours per week as a cook while still trying to make it as a rapper.,…yet he didn’t give up.
# I realized, ‘Yo, I can’t do anything in moderation. I don’t know how.”
To be the best, you should and must not stay on average level… You should go further and further beyond your limits. Well, no matter what happened in Eminem’s life, he kept writing and he kept rapping. It’s safe to say that Eminem hit his 10,000 hours and then some by the time he finally signed with Dr. Dre in ’97
# If there’s not drama and negativity in my life, all my songs will be really wack and boring or something.”
This literally means that failure will come… It ain’t no choice. ast forward five years.
Eminem faced a mountain of personal failures, including his second divorce, a drug and alcohol addiction so severe that it almost killed him, and then a relapse to that drug addiction. Even though he had finally found success, he failed again. In fact, he completely stopped making his own music during these failure-ridden years of his life.
And yet…He came back.
That half decade of massive failures led him to make his comeback to the hip hop scene with Relapse in 2009 and recovery in 2010.
What we see here is that failure is an inevitable precursor to success. For all people, it’s impossible to learn what it takes to be successful until you’ve failed.
# Eminem made a commitment to being a real artist: “I had nothing to lose, but something to gain…I made some shit that I wanted to hear.”
Be bold, take risks, life ain’t all about knowing exactly what to do.
It’s more of taking risks, building up confidence, and knowing the inner you and what you can achieve.
# I try to treat all the money I’m making like it’s the last time I’m going to make it.”
It’s always good to prepare for the worst, even if you’re at your best, you gotta continue working hard, nothing lasts forever …
I started learning how to not be so angry about things, learning how to count my f—ing blessings instead. By doing that, I’ve become a happier person, instead of all this self-loathing I was doing for a while.”….Eminem
And also, never believe what people say about you, it all depends on your belief in yourself…
