3 Problems With Slay Queens

Nowadays, there is a social media revolution. People want to show off that baby bump, the tattoos, the flawless legs, the cleavage. In this group lurks the mouthy, emotional, dramatic Nigerian “slay queen.”
Who is a slay queen? Anyone who is female (or Bobrisky) and posts a revealing, stunning, or anodyne(but you comment #slayqueen to be polite) picture on any social media platform.

These types usually pose with one toe on the ground, their bums arched to attract prospective Alhaji ‘baes’, and their lips pouted.
Their location details are always off except they get the rare chance to chill at Quilox or Moscow underground.
Without further ado, here are some problems with Naija ‘slay queens’.

 


1. They Are Fake: You see that girl using expensive brews to wash her hands in her recent posts? Not only is she fake, she is also quite blunt upstairs. Yes, it is her money but the problem with these types is that because they probably didn’t work too hard for this money, they can afford to throw it away. You don’t see rich CEOs doing any of that.
And one brother somewhere is saying those are the types he wishes to tie the proverbial knot with. Better calm down and receive sense.

2. They are liars: Oge Okoye, a former slay queen but current parody and comic figure of fun, deemed it necessary to upload pictures of dogs that weren’t hers, fawning over them with her comments. Well, the gimmick was up duly, and the lady has had her head beaten off by her quite puerile actions. The problem with the Nigerian slay queen is they feel the need to be ‘among’. Among where aunty? You are already there. Just be yourself.
They would upload pictures and dress up in shoes and bags that aren’t theirs, then talk to them and you would be doused by a deluge of phony accents. Just speak pidgin English aunty, if you don’t know the difference between their, they’re, and there.

3. Serial Hunters: It is all about the next guy who can warm their sheets and spend money on them. It is all about the money. These types do not care about STIs or religion, they are after keeping their heads above water.
So they would send randy pictures to a rich guy they just met, just so he could leer at them and offer them a night of bliss…or more.
Then when he leaves them with empty pockets, a broken heart, a higher body count, and a series of infections, they would run to social media and type ‘ men are scum.’
Iranu. You were ignoring genuine love because you wanted money, now you are uploading epistle upon epistle on IG. Try to be better in future.
